Reports from the Field
May 22, 2006 SPECIAL THANKS: Here is an update on the “Food Project”: We are going to be picking up the money that was given toward the feeding of the villages in the Upper West. We had to come here to pick it up after transferring it to Ghana. We have placed an order for bags of corn because that seems to go the farthest and give them something that will fill their hunger. For those of you who responded we thank you and the people that will receive the benefit of your kindness also thank you. They will in a few days be able to feed their families. If anyone else still wants to help, the need will actually become greater. We are committed to building a fund that will allow us to fill the need at the time it is needed. We have a large area to cover and believe that we will not see anyone struggle with hunger to the point of death this year. We are forming a small team to carry out this project on an ongoing basis. We are also working with a project that is starting to bring in some new crop ideas to help stamp out hunger and poverty in the Upper West. This will take some years but for now we can at least help to sustain them in a small way. All things here are moving forward with the plans for the next few months. We are in Accra now a bit early waiting on the NLMI Medical Team. The plans were to come down on Wednesday of this week but we had a fuel problem in Wa. There was no diesel in Wa all last week and by Thursday they did not know when it was coming. We had only enough fuel in our vehicle to make it down to Kumasi so we decided we best come ahead before we ran out. Our time down here is quite full. We just returned from Togo. There are many details that we have to attend to while here in the capital. Remember to pray for our ministry trip to Nigeria. We leave on the heels of the NLMI departure, June 9th. We will be preaching in Lagos, Nigeria for one week. We will also be teaching in a Global Missions School. We will return to Accra to receive our son-in-the-Lord, Prince and his wife, Nicole Darko. They are leading a team from Fayetteville, NC, who will be doing follow up and discipleship for the new church plant. SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST: May 29th – June 2nd Church Plant/Medical Clinic We have been lead by the Holy Spirit to a Lobi village called Ponyamamyiri (pronounced poeen ya ma nerri). It is a remote unreached and untapped place. There are about 10 other Lobi villages skirted around. There are also a few Fulani Muslim settlements close by. It is not far from a Hippopotamus sanctuary. The Gospel has never come to this place before and we are anticipating great success. When we were searching out a village for this year’s medical outreach and church planting our spirits leapt when we drove up the path to this place. Pray for the work of God to be fulfilled through us and the team that is coming from the States as well as, the local team we have formed in Wa. PRAISE REPORT: The trip to and from Wa was like a dream because of this new vehicle. We were not sore or hurting after bouncing much more gently up and down that bad road. The ac works so well and we both can feel it in this vehicle, what a treat. We can never say thank you enough to all of you who prayed and financially sacrificed for it. PRAYER POINTS:
We continue to pray for you and for your families. May God richly bless you beyond measure for all you do to help further the Kingdom of God on this Earth. As we continue to pray and press forward to the goals set before us, we remain In HIS service, Revs. Keith & Debbie Jaggers MOSA
